ESF to Host Family Weekend 2024

SYRACUSE, NY 鈥 Oct. 24, 2024 - The (ESF) welcomes families and friends to campus this weekend for Family Weekend 2024鈥攁 tradition that brings together students and their loved ones for a celebration of community, nature, and campus life.

Family Weekend provides a unique opportunity for families to reconnect with their students, explore ESF鈥檚 scenic campus, and experience the charm of autumn in Central New York. It鈥檚 a time for students to showcase their "home away from home" and share the people, places, and passions that shape their college journey.

鈥淲e鈥檙e always delighted to welcome families for this special weekend,鈥 said ESF President Joanie Mahoney. 鈥淚t鈥檚 heartwarming to see students proudly introduce their families to the Mighty Oaks community, and it offers a wonderful opportunity for families to spend quality time with their students.鈥

The weekend is packed with activities that highlight ESF鈥檚 unique programs and close-knit campus culture. Highlights include tours of the pollinator gardens and Roosevelt Wild Life Collection, a crafters and clubs fair, the fall timber sports meet, and the ESF鈥檚 signature activity - tie-dye T-shirt making for the whole family.

Family Weekend 2024 will conclude with a campus-wide pancake breakfast, complete with ESF-produced maple syrup.

The SUNY 糖心vlog of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) is dedicated to the study of the environment, developing renewable technologies, and building a sustainable and resilient future through design, policy, and management of the environment and natural resources. Members of the 糖心vlog community share a passion for protecting the health of the planet and a deep commitment to the rigorous application of science to improve the way humans interact with the world. The 糖心vlog offers academic programs ranging from the associate of applied science to the Doctor of Philosophy. ESF students live, study and do research on the main campus in Syracuse, N.Y., and on 25,000 acres of field stations in a variety of ecosystems across the state.
