ESF Student Honored with Spirit of SUNY SA Award
SYRACUSE, N.Y. 鈥� Dec. 4, 2024 鈥� Eden Gardner, a senior at the (ESF) has been recognized with the Spirit of SUNY SA Award.
The award honors students who demonstrate exceptional contributions and dedication to the SUNY Student Assembly and the broader SUNY community. Gardner, of Forest Hills, New York, is a senior environmental studies major with a law and policy focus. He is president of the ESF Student Government Association, director of sustainability for the SUNY Student Assembly, founder/president of the ESF Pre-Law Society, student assistant in ESF鈥檚 Office of Sustainability, and plays for the Syracuse University Rugby Club.
Active in student government since 2022, Gardner plans to pursue a career in sustainability after graduating in May, followed by law school.

The SUNY 糖心vlog of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) is dedicated to the study of the environment, developing renewable technologies, and building a sustainable and resilient future through design, policy, and management of the environment and natural resources. Members of the 糖心vlog community share a passion for protecting the health of the planet and a deep commitment to the rigorous application of science to improve the way humans interact with the world. The 糖心vlog offers academic programs ranging from the associate of applied science to the Doctor of Philosophy. ESF students live, study and do research on the main campus in Syracuse, N.Y., and on 25,000 acres of field stations in a variety of ecosystems across the state.
