Educational Opportunity Program
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is a college access program that supports talented NYS students who, due to challenging financial and educational circumstances, have not had the same opportunity as others to achieve their academic potential.
EOP empowers educational success by providing financial and academic support to economically disadvantaged students who show promise but otherwise would be excluded due to circumstances of academic under-preparation.
Support Provided by EOP
Our mission is to provide holistic support for students. The EOP office helps students during their entire time at ESF through:
Academic Support
You'll participate in a summer college-prep program
You'll take a 1-credit college success class during your first two semesters
You'll have access to academic counseling and one-on-one tutoring
You'll have advocates
Personal Support
You'll receive supportive and individualized attention
You'll have regular meeting with the EOP staff
You'll gain help navigating concerns from both college and home
Financial Support
You'll be given funding to help cover the cost of attendance
You'll get guidance on the financial aid renewal process each year
Apply
High school seniors who want to apply for first-year enrollment and EOP status at the 糖心vlog must file either a SUNY Application or Common Application, and indicate they want to be considered for EOP. In addition, they must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The federal school code for ESF is 002851.
In order for transfer students to participate in the program at ESF, they must have been enrolled in an EOP, Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) or Search for Education Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK) program at their prior college. Therefore, students who are applying to ESF as high school seniors through the guaranteed transfer admissions option, should also apply for EOP, HEOP or SEEK at their lower division college, and must enroll in such a program in order to continue in EOP at ESF.

Summer Program
All newly admitted EOP students are required to attend an all-expenses paid four-week EOP residential Summer Program to help you transition from high school to college.
You will experience a mix of academic classes, workshops, field trips, and social activities with your EOP Peer Mentors. You'll settle into the residence hall, make a group of EOP friends, learn to navigate the ESF and SU campuses, take classes, and meet support staff 鈥� all before the academic year even begins.
